Born from the ashes of the global pandemic and the simple desire to tell great stories through thought-provoking lyrics and crushing guitar riffs, SØNICWEAPØN has firmly planted one foot in the classic anthems of the past, and the hard-hitting vibes of the present. What started with a single riff is now a fully realized album. The Toll was made to provoke thought, entertain, and tell tall tales.
Johnson City, Tennessee, is the place Greg calls home. Music is his love and passion, and a Les Paul is his weapon of choice. Greg's fearless approach to creating monolithic riffs and soaring leads give SØNICWEAPØN ``that special something`` that communicates to a listener on so many different levels. His lead guitar solos exhibit in-your-face confidence and sensitive musicality by allowing his fury of notes to sing and breathe - his rhythm hooks grab hold of you from the beginning of every song and refuse to let go. Greg is a true artist of tone, and rock and roll is his canvas.
Hailing from Dallas, Scott is a tour de force creative. His vocal prowess has graced tracks around the world as a signed artist and gun for hire. He's the former frontman for LA Guns and League of Gentlemen, and he has opened for artists like Neil Young. He is a gifted collaborator who willingly sets ego aside for the song's greater good - always bringing 1000% to every song. Scott's ability to bring stories to life, emote feeling, and command a listener's attention through seemingly effortless performances and ultra-rich harmonies are cornerstones of the SØNICWEAPØN sound.
Based in Chattanooga, Ike provides the thunderous backbone of SØNICWEAPØN. He's a session player, engineer, producer, and touring musician - most recently supporting Levi Hummon. Ike is a true artist and consummate professional. He endeavors to own the heartbeat of every song by remaining true to his unique application of the infinite combination of ingredients it takes to make great music. His performances on The Toll have provided the bedrock foundation on which all other musical elements and ideas stand. Ike is a force to be reckoned with both in the studio and on stage.
Based in Knoxville, Jim's early interests in poetry and music eventually led him to the notion that maybe, someday, he would write lyrics and play in a rock band. In 1985, his co-worker Greg gave Jim his first guitar lesson, loaned him an amp, and helped him select his first electric guitar. Jim instantly found his niche providing arrangements, lyrics, and foundational chord progressions that supported Greg's compositions and frontman riffage. SØNICWEAPØN is the result of a friendship and creative partnership that spans many decades. The Toll is a dream come true.
